Fuji XC 50-230mm vs Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS – The Moon

Tonight, I shot the moon hand held at multiple apertures and at 1/1000 and 1/2000. Focus point and exposure was set to spot.

The Fuji had a harder time getting focus (but was in focus). I had to zoom back a few times for it to get into focus again. If I had it on single AF and pre-focus off, I think I would have been ok.

The Canon locked focus quickly, but most of the photos were out of focus. The Canon also had more variation in exposure.

Here are the best shots straight from each camera at 100% crop no edits.

*Update 10/2015* And here are the photos enhanced to be as close as possible.

You might be able to get more detail out of the Canon if it was shot darker (or I edited the RAW file) but I was testing the auto (spot) exposure systems on the bodies to see what I could get with out-of-camera JPEGs.
